In-store processes
Spot check configuration
Overview
The shopreme middleware allows configuring how the spot check process works on the Supervisor app, to ensure that it suits your in-store processes the best.
Most configurations are visible to the shopreme Management Console admins under Global Settings, in the Server Settings menu section. However, understanding how some of these configurations will really affect the behavior of the app can be challenging at the beginning.
In this page, we have collected some example sets of configurations to show how they influence the behavior on the Supervisor app, along with result videos.
Sight check vs. Rescan
As described in the Customer Interaction page, the Supervisor app can show “sight checks” and “rescan check” depending on how many products the shopper is buying. Sight checks are meant for only a few items, which can be visually verified by the employee and confirmed in the app. Rescans are meant for quantities that go over the Global Configuration setting for “Threshold for Supervisor users to be recommended a sight check”, which by default is set to 4.
Based on the sight check threshold default value, if the customer has 5 or more items in the cart, the Supervisor app will see the rescan process when they start the spot check process.
Rescan configuration
The rescan behavior can be customized for each retailer’s needs. Some relevant configurations are the following:
Percentage of products to rescan – default 30%
This means that, as long as no mismatches are found when rescanning, the employee will be prompted to approve the purchase after scanning 30% of the products.
Lower boundary for the number of products to rescan – default 1
The overall minimum count of products recommended to be scanned at the beginning of the spot check.
Upper boundary for the number of products to rescan – default 10
The overall maximum count of products recommended to be scanned at the beginning of the spot check.
Allow early completion – default true.
This value refers to whether Supervisor users can see the option to end a spot check and set an outcome (rejected/approved) before completing the recommended product rescan.
Error thresholds and rules – deactivated by default
This is a series of rules for shopper mistakes during rescan, and how the recommended number of products to rescan should be adjusted. For example, the rule can state “if there are no errors, complete initial recommendation – if there is 1 confirmed mistake, increase the rescan recommendation to 50% of the total of products – if there are 2 confirmed mistakes, increase the rescan recommendation to 100% of the total of products (rescan the entire basket).”
